Tulleys Farm - Rustic Wedding Shoot
I began my journey in the wedding industry back in 2010 when I left the British Army and began working as a wedding venue co-ordinator. After taking a few years out for my children I decided to go back into things full swing with the business Taylored Weddings. I’m now proud to give a dedicated and professional service to every couple I have the privilege of being involved with and can’t wait to take the business to the next level.
Back in September 2017 I was lucky enough to style an inspiration shoot at Tulleys Farm in West Sussex.
Tulleys Farm is known for its spectacular Halloween and Christmas events however the possibility of using the barns for a wedding may sometimes be overlooked. Through this shoot, I wanted to draw on the rustic, simple wood décor and compliment it using an elegant selection of pastel colours to add sophistication and warmth. The shoot has shown how a simple, dark space can be transformed by a talented group of individuals all based in West Sussex.
FLOWERS - Tracey from Flowers by design provided a delicate top table display with matching cake décor and a selection of vases and jars complimented by the same warming colours. Her use of pink and blue hydrangea, gypsophelia, avalanche roses, antirrhinums and foliage made the displays soft yet bold, adding warmth to a cold space and creating an eye-catching centrepiece.
STATIONARY – Yvonne form Ivory Sky Design created a selection of stunning high quality, hand crafted stationary. She used brown card with white hammered card stock to give the stationary texture and vintage floral lace, finished with a burlap twine concentrating on the rustic theme which complemented the sandalwood napkins and table décor perfectly.
CAKE – The simple yet elegant cake was provided by Lucy from Stable Cottage Cakes. Beautiful fresh flowers were added to the clean white iced cake with intricate piping detail and suspended in full view to create a real wow factor. I love the idea of the wedding cake being so focal throughout the day. It’s artistry at its best but is often sat at the back of the room and only truly appreciated for a brief
moment before it is cut.
OTHERS – The stylish oak loop back chairs and sandalwood napkins were provided by Co-ordination catering hire. The photography was by Alexander White. The use of wooden log rounds as centrepieces for DIY weddings is becoming more popular however, I wanted to take it to the next level by using them as place settings to show versatility and create a depth on the tables.
THE DAY – The weatherman smiled down on us this warm summers morning. With every supplier arriving first thing keen to get going and proud of their individual components. Only taking a short time to get the displays in place Alex began to work his magic with photography. Quietly and thoroughly working his way around the barn. Selecting such a reliable and professional group of suppliers who provide a high-quality service is important when arranging a wedding. These suppliers were exactly that and to make it all even better the shoot was so much fun and made easy by a hard-working group of individuals.
